We here at JAG Tactical & Self Defense want to send our heart felt sorrow to those who were killed in the terrorist attack in the Pulse nightclub in Orlando Florida. JAG Tactical is based just 80 miles north of Orlando in Ocala. The Shooter Omar Mateen pledged his allegiance to ISIS while he carried out the mass shooting in the nightclub. He's not the only one here in the United States who has or is planning to attack innocent lives in the name of Allah.
The entire reason why I created this company was the fact that us Americans (as with all lives) have the right to live without fear of being attacked, raped, or killed by another being. The act of self-preservation is instinctive in all species on this planet especially in humans. We Americans have the right to keep and bear arms for the purpose of protecting ourselves as well as our loved ones. This latest attack on our soil by those who want nothing but us dead is an on-going occurrence which must be stopped.
Yes there are those Americans who don't want civilians to have firearms for the purpose of protection. They feel that job is up to law enforcement. Unfortunately the police can not be everywhere at all times. We must be the first line of defense when it comes to terrorist like Mr Mateen. We don't hear about it from the main stream media, but this attack wasn't the first one to happen on American soil since September 11th, 2011. From the looks of it, it won't be the last either.
More and more people are arming themselves for when and if it ever happens to them. Each time a terrorist attack has happened, it's been where it's a "GUN-FREE ZONE". Sad but true, only law-biding citizen actually listen to that statement and leave their weapons at home or in their car. Too bad the criminal doesn't follow the rules/laws.
Ok, so you don't want to carry a gun. That's fine. It's your right to make that decision. However you must realize that danger comes in many ways and that is why I make sure my loved ones are protected. My youngest daughter (many know form being in our store) is only 17 and isn't allowed to carry a firearm until she is 21 years of age. That doesn't mean I haven't given her pepper spray, a monkey fist, a Brutus (self defense keychain) along with a knife (she actually has a collection of pocket knives). It's my job as a dad to make sure my kids are safe. As they get older that job becomes harder as they move out and live their own lives. I do take comfort in the fact that I raised my kids not to be afraid of arming themselves from an attack.
Again I want to seand our deepest condolences to those who lost someone due to Saturday's terrorist attack carried out by the low-life piece of work named Omar Mateen. We will not forget.
